Sole owner + Operator | Seamstress

Hello! That's me 🠓 Jay!

I’m a Mama to two little babes and a former foster Mom to many. A lover of all things Montessori, an avid thrift shopper, aspiring minimalist, and a self proclaimed capsule wardrobe expert. I live for outdoor music and peony season.

The Little Gosling was hatched with my passion for sewing quality, timeless clothing using exclusively organic textiles that are safe for humans and the environment.

Since the launch of our clothing line, I'm slowly expanding to bring you a small selection of toys and other products - these items are thoughtfully and mindfully selected, tried and true tested, bringing our own family joy for many years.

I grew up sewing on my Grandmothers lap using her speedy industrial machine, she worked much of her life in a jean factory with less than desirable conditions which ultimately led to her developing a severe lung condition, the cause of her short life - which is reason to why I take sustainable sewing practices just so so personally (and also why I'm constantly pep talking my sewing machine to sew like Grans did!)

This isn't a place for fast fashion. I desire my outfits (and curation of toys!) to be passed through generations and I personally lead a "less is more" lifestyle.

I LOVE being a sole owner / operator - it brings me so much joy to select every button and fabric, sew every stitch and serve you from start to finish. I hope you feel that joy when you receive your items and dress your littles.

It’s my desire to operate business, differently. I'm a big believer in shopping local AND supporting community over competition. Clothing is available in small batches at several Idaho retailers, visit the store locator here. In the spring and summer you'll find me popping up in person at the Idaho Falls Farmers market.

I believe in sustainability, product safety AND balance.

I'm mindful about sourcing the most sustainable and ethically produced products, materials and packaging. Transparency is incredibly important in supply chain, certifications and methods.

You will notice that some items don't entirely fit into the sustainable category (product teethers, pacifier clips). I began offering these as I found a gap in my local Idaho market, where these products were sold and used without undergoing the required third party lab testing. I wanted to fill that void by following all necessary CPSC/CPSIA requirements to ensure I can offer items that keep your babies safe from harm.

Clothes are cut and sewed by myself, in small/limited batches. This ensures quality product, that I can meet the needs of my growing family,  avoid burn out and ensure my business continues to be my passion.
